Greetings from BRCA 28605! There are a number of pending activities that will affect your wallet and your drive times. Leet’s look at current activities:
From The Town of Blowing Rock:
Main Street Repaving
From Town Hall: the paving of Main Street is scheduled to begin much earlier than we initially anticipated! Milling is scheduled to begin June 15th – with paving to tentatively begin the week of June 22nd, weather permitting.
- All paving work will be Sundays to Thursdays from 7:00pm-7:00am. No daytime or weekend work.
- There will also be no work completed the week of July 3rd-7th.
- All of Main Street, 221 to Green Street, and the top of Globe Road to Wallingford would be paved.
Expect updates and reminders from Town about paving work as it progresses.
BR Horse Show Starts Today
Our Horse Show is over 100 years old and adds a tremendous amount of tourist revenue to our community. The Saddlebred show starts today. Be aware of traffic on Main Street and Highway 221.
Thomas The Train at Tweetsie
The activities start on Friday and run thru June 15th. Higher traffic volume on US 321.

THE TOWN OF BLOWING ROCK’S TOWN MANAGER’S RECOMMENDED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026 WAS SUBMITTED TO THE TOWN OF BLOWING ROCK TOWN COUNCIL ON TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2025.
A COPY OF THE PROPOSED BUDGET IS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION ONLINE AT WWW.TOWNOFBLOWINGROCKNC.GOV AND AT TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 1036 MAIN STREET, BLOWING ROCK, NC.
A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET SHALL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2025, AT 6:00 P.M. TO ALLOW PUBLIC COMMENT AT WHICH TIME ANY PERSONS WHO WISH TO BE HEARD ON THE BUDGET MAY APPEAR.
THE BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD IN THE TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS LOCATED AT 1036 MAIN STREET, BLOWING ROCK, NC 28605.

BRCA 2025 Spring Priorities Survey Reminder
Response to our survey continues to be strong. If you haven’t yet, please complete the survey. It’s open thru June 15th. 2025 will be a pivotal year for you and your property interests in Blowing Rock. Your responses will give current Town leaders, as well as candidates running in the November 2025 Town Council election, insights into your views on important topics. You will be able to access our survey link using the QR Code on the front of the post card or go to www.brcivic.org and look for the Survey tab to let us know your current top three topics of interest using the list below or adding your own topics:
1. Ambulance arrival time improvement to national norm (9 minutes, 90% of the time)
Property tax increases
2. Continuance to limiting short term rentals to defined districts and protection of residential neighborhoods

Blue Ridge Parkway to Remain Open
Blue Ridge Parkway will remain open in our area this summer and fall! The Parkway will not proceed with previously scheduled complete closures for deferred maintenance in 2025.
Broyhill Service Award Nomination Opens
Nominations for the 2025 Paul Broyhill Service Award are now being accepted. This is an excellent opportunity to nominate someone that has given great time, talent, and service to our community.
