Greeting from BRCA 28605! Here is some news on our upcoming season:
Vote BR Best Small Town
Garden & Gun Magazine has advanced Blowing Rock to Roud Two of South’s Best Main Street. We are going head-to-head in competition with Ocean Springs, MS. As of this morning we were receiving 71% of the votes. You can click on the following link to vote: https://gardenandgun.com/bracket/vote-best-main-street/
No More Paper Voter Registration Forms
The North Carolina State Board of Elections has announced they will no longer provide paper forms for registering to vote. Forms no longer printed for voter registration drives. You can continue to request forms from your local Board of Elections.
Bistro Roca Chamber Funds Distributed
Thanks for all that donated to the fund for the employees and family affected by the fire. Some $129,000 was distributed to the families from the Chamber. Well done!

USA 250
BRCA has ordered 1,000 12×18 American Flags on 24-inch sticks to distribute to our community over the July 4th celebration. More news on that as we get closer.
More Radon Kits Available
Another box of 50 Home Radon Test Kits arrived this week. We will get those out for distribution in the coming days. There were a number of requests we couldn’t fill as our supply ran out so we have restocked, more on that soon!
Salute to BRPD
We have the last three years data from the Blowing Rock Police Department and are sorting through it. We will dedicate a 28605 to our Police Department in the near future and hopefully have an opportunity to interview Chief Kirck. More to follow.
Focus on EMS & Town Meeting
We have reserved the American Legion building for June 15, 2026, for a town wide introduction to our new Ambulance service. We want to recognize our County Commissioners and introduce our town to the new EMS director. Our plan is to include all citizens having an opportunity to talk with your EMS Director, County Commissioners, and have a “hands-on” experience with one of the new trucks. We have requested data on number and type of first responder calls and EMS and Fire Department numbers from the county and will be sharing those as we begin our season. Please save the date, June 15 at 5:00 PM at the American Legion. We are marketing this alongside the Chamber of Commerce.
