Thank you to Chuck Mantooth, President and CEO of ARHS for his presentation last evening at BRCC. More than 70 people attended the event and we are so appreciative for his update on the many facets of ARHS and recent improvements and their affiliation with UNC Healthcare. Town Council August 8 @ 6:00 PMRegularly scheduled Town Council meeting will be Tuesday evening August 8, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Town Hall. Agenda is not yet available but there will be a public hearing regarding parking enforcement. Per announcement:
PUBLIC NOTICE The Blowing Rock Town Council is planning to conduct public hearings during their upcoming meeting on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 which begins at 6:00 PM on the following items: The following agenda item(s) that requires public notice will be discussed: 1. Chapter 6 of the Town Code – Parking Enforcement The Town Council is considering changes to Chapter 6 of the Town Code related to public parking enforcement regulations for downtown. The proposed ordinance allows the Town the option to charge for public parking, increase fines for parking violations, establish graduated fines for repeat violations, and allow for vehicle immobilization devices. Any person wishing to comment on the above item may do so during the public hearings or by sending written comments to Hilari H. Hubner, Town Clerk, PO Box 47, Blowing Rock, NC, 28605 prior to the Council meeting. The public hearings will be held in the Council Chambers in the Blowing Rock Town Hall, 1036 Main Street. The Town Hall is ADA accessible.

2nd Quarter BRCA Website Analitycs
After the frantic first quarter with the Underground Utilities topic traffic has calmed a bit. While active traffic to our website was down 22.5% we picked up 1,038 new users had 9,436 unique visits and 62.53% audience engagement. We continue to average an open rate with our BRCA 28605 of 70%. Thank you for your engagement and support.
Queens of Blowing Rock
The August 23 presentation has been canceled due to availability of volunteers to manage the event. In Queens of Blowing Rock, Dr. Barry Buxton identifies eight women from Blowing Rock’s past who made outstanding contributions to our community. This 55 minute historic video is the third in a series co-sponsored by the Blowing Rock Historical Society and the Blowing Rock Civic Association. Two presentations are currently scheduled:
Tuesday, August 15th, 4:30 p.m. at the Blowing Rock Country Club
Wednesday, August 16th, 4:30 p.m. at the American Legion Building.
