Dear Blowing Rock Homeowners,

The Broyhill Award recognizes an individual or individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the charming, scenic town of Blowing Rock. The award is named for one of Blowing Rock’s most generous benefactors Paul H. Broyhill who with his family contributed consistently to parks, healthcare, the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show, and numerous other causes, events and institutions to benefit our great community. Our previous outstanding award recipients are:

David Goodson, our 2020 recipient, who assisted the Town in securing excellent trees and plants to decorate Valley Blvd. after the Highway 321 widening was completed.

The Harper Sisters, Lee Vason, Dinny Addison, and Anne Bernhardt, our 2021 recipients, who led a successful effort to preserve critically important green space at the South entrance to Blowing Rock.

We are asking you to send us your nominee for the 2022 award no later than June 30, 2022. Please send your email nomination to: George Wilcox at wilcpen@aol.com

The 2022 award will be presented at the BRCA Annual Membership Meeting on August 4, 2020, at the Perry Car Barn in Mayview.

Our committee will carefully evaluate every nomination to determine our award recipient or recipients. We are keenly aware of and very appreciative for the many citizens of Blowing Rock who are doing great work for our unique town.
