Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation
As time goes on, we tend to forget about those still in desperate need after the Hurricane. Today the need is heat. With temps around zero next week families are in desperate need of propane. In a discussion this week we learn that 100,000 homes were destroyed. We also know there are some 3,000 still in temporary housing. They are heating what homes that can be occupied with small propane “Buddy Heaters”. This is a small heater that heats 450 square feet so normally there are two in a home. GMSF has partnered with Three Nails Hardware in Newland. They are helping donate 40 pounds of propane per family (two grill tanks) to families per week. A tank will heat a home for about two days. Providing a “day of propane” runs from $3,000-$4,000 per day based on demand. If you would like to help keep families warm you can send your donation to:

100% of your donation goes to the relief efforts. We sincerely hope you help with our efforts.
