2024 4th of July Parade
Saturday July 6, 10:00 am
Join the town of Blowing Rock for the best small-town Main Street parade you’ll find anywhere! Local families, musicians, organizations, and characters celebrate the holiday with a patriotic procession. The parade is usually 40 minutes to an hour long.
*PLEASE NOTE the 10am Parade Time!
In addition, Main Street will be closed to parking from midnight the night before, to just after the parade (12am-11am on July 6). No parking on Main Street for the parade will ensure better visibility and safety! To make parking easy, a complimentary shuttle service will run from the parking lot at Shoppes on the Parkway to Main Street, beginning at 8:00am. The shuttle will run continuously through 2:00 pm.
After the parade, enjoy holiday shopping and dining around town until ready to return to your vehicle, then check out what’s new at Shoppes on the Parkway!

Broyhill Service Award
Broyhill Furniture CEO Paul Broyhill was a furniture & Blowing Rock legend, and he loved Blowing Rock and provided many philanthropic endeavors to our Town including parks, healthcare, the Blowing Rock Charity Horseshoe and so much more. Each year BRCA participates in honoring an outstanding individual that has excelled in enhancing the quality of life in Blowing Rock for its residents. This year’s award will be the 5th annual and will honor someone who has gone above and beyond to enhance the quality of life for all Blowing Rock residents over the past 12 months. The nominees do not have to be BRCA members. Please joins us in recognizing an outstanding member of our community. Please nominate and recommend anyone you feel is qualified to be considered for this prestigious award.
We will accept nominations until July 1, 2024, and the award will be presented at the BRCA annual meeting in late August (Perry Car Barn August 29th)

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Blowing Rock Planning Board will review and consider the following item at a special meeting to be held on Thursday July 11, 2024 at 5:30 PM.
- Conditional Rezoning (R-15 to CZ-R-15) – Town of Blowing Rock Communications
The Town of Blowing Rock is requesting a conditional rezoning of Town property from R-15, Single-Family to Conditional Zoning – R-15, Single-Family (CZ-R-15) to erect an 80-foot utility pole for Town public communications. The 0.71-acre property is located at the Town water tank on Green Hill Circle. The property is further identified by Watauga County PINs 2817-54-7110-000.
Plans and information for the proposed development are available for public inspection at the Town Planning and Inspections office during normal business hours; or questions may be directed to the Planning Director at (828) 295-5240.
The Planning Board meeting will be held at the Blowing Rock Town Hall, 1036 Main Street. The Town Hall is ADA accessible.
